For many years Richard was a commercial and corporate partner in a large Auckland law firm and the legal firms of two “big four” tax, audit and consulting firms.
Richard then ran his own legal practice before joining the IRD to assist in implementing the R & D tax credit and remained with the IRD for a number of years. His experience includes tax investigations, audits, disputes and prosecutions and tax technical work, including opinions and public and private rulings. His practice now concentrates on commercial and corporate work of all kinds, as well as tax.
He has a long-standing interest in art, having been a finalist in a number of art competitions, and has a strong interest in and knowledge of intellectual property. He joined the firm as a consultant on 1 October 2013 and works in the Highbrook offices.
