Wincy is a Director at our Highbrook office.
Wincy is originally from the UK, having practised as a company commercial solicitor in the UK for 10 years, before moving to New Zealand in 2014 and focusing on providing construction and infrastructure advice.
Whilst practising in the UK, Wincy acted for a range of SME and entrepreneurial businesses and specialised in commercial and corporate matters. She has significant experience dealing with share and business acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, corporate restructures and mergers. She also regularly advised on a range of shareholder and investment agreements, commercial contracts and exit strategies for owner-managed businesses, including family businesses.
Prior to joining Wynyard Wood, Wincy was senior legal counsel for Kainga Ora. Her responsibilities included providing legal support and strategic advice on a variety of construction-related matters ranging from Kainga Ora’s new build, new community developments, maintenance and retrofit programmes. Prior to that role, Wincy was a senior associate at one of New Zealand’s largest law firms. She has a considerable amount of experience in a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects advising on local government, construction and large-scale infrastructure projects, as well as advising commercial landlords on a range of commercial contracts relating to their property portfolios.
Having had over 16 years’ legal experience, Wincy is able to focus on providing pragmatic commercial advice whilst also having particular expertise in the construction and infrastructure industry and is able to assist clients with their projects, from the procurement phase through to construction.
When not working, Wincy spends most of her time taking instructions from her twins, who are always keeping her negotiation skills up to date.
